How to become a member of Gazi Husrev-bey Library?
Library funds and services may be used by Library members only. Registration is made at the Reception Desk by filling-in the form and by paying a fee. When registering, please show an identification document. If you belong to a category approved for a discount, please bring a relevant document.
What is the amount of membership fee?

Can books be borrowed for reading out of the Library?
Books may not be taken out of the Library. They can be used in Library reading rooms only.
What are the working hours of reading rooms?
Reading rooms are open on working days from 08:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 8:00 to 16:00. Please note that full Library staff is not working on Saturdays so visitors may only use the space of reading rooms for reading or studying from their own books. The Library is closed on Sundays and on public and religious holidays.
How to request a book?
Books are requested by filling in a form (available at the Reception Desk). Please include in the form the signature number, title of book requested, and the number of your membership card. You can search Library materials by use of digitized catalogs. For additional assistance, please contact a librarian.
How to copy Library materials?
You may make copies of parts of books or articles from magazines in accordance with Copyright Law. It is also possible to make copies in digital form on CD or DVDs.
What kind of literature does the Library offer?
Gazi Husrev-bey Library mainly keeps literature on Islamic sciences, history, and orientalist literature and belles lettres, especially literature in connection with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Works from other scientific and expert fields are also available.
When can be the Library Museum visited and what is the ticket cost?
The Museum of Gazi Husrev-bey Library is open every day from 9:00 to 18:00. The price of a ticket is 3KM. Discount is allowed for students.
Is it possible to walk through the Library and if so, at what time?
On request of schools and other institutions, we organize group visits to the Library. Such visits must be booked at least three days in advance.
Is it possible to access literature and documents from the Library via electronic mail and what would be the manner of payment?
Yes, there is a possibility of sending certain Library materials by electronic mail. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details. Payments for such services are made to the Library bank account.
